i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best Olliver found himself at the mall. For the second time. The first time he went to the mall was when he first arrived in Dirge, and he needed more clothes. But here he was again, in the mall, the place buzzing with ambient noise. He never really liked the mall, there were too many people in one space. But all the same, there he was. Though he was looking for pens and notebooks [maybe even a book to read], he just chilled in the center of the mall. Olliver wasn’t in a rush. He decided he’d hang out in the mall, trying to get used to the amount of people in one space. So he just sat there, listening to the noises. People rushed by, bags in hand, looking for deals on clothes. Other people laughed with friends, eating fast food and drinking soda pop.
Olliver never went to the mall with his friends back on Earth; it wasn’t something any were into. Even Bree wasn’t into going to the mall, though she and Olliver went there occasionally, just for fun. They’d put on the most ridiculous hats and sunglasses, posing for each other, making silly faces. The memory made Olliver smile, but it also made him sad. Bree. He missed her, his heart ached at the thought of her. But that’s just the way it would have to be, because he was here and she was, well, there.
“There”.
Olliver missed Bree more than anything right now, she felt distant, so far. Because she was. And Olliver didn’t like that. He wanted her close to him, holding him, holding his hand, just being within walking or driving distance was fine. But knowing she was too far for even contact killed Olliver inside. In fact, she may be with another guy already. That thought killed Olliver even more, shredding him to pieces. His heart ached almost as much as it did when he first arrived here. His lungs tightened and it became hard to breathe.
When his lungs untightened and his thoughts were cleared of Bree, he sat there observing people. Well, not really observing, he was watching more than he was observing. He liked that fact that the world kept revloving and moving, and no one took note of the silent people, who quietly watched the passerbys. He liked how hefaded into the background, unnoticed and ignored, free to watch society and its unspoken rules. But that’s just the way it was.
But this also made Olliver feel alone, because everyone at the mall seemed to have someone. Everyone ignored the rest of the world, because everyone had someone else to pay attention to. But Olliver [though he had Charlotte], didn’t really have too many friends. And none of them were here now, and none of them would come if he asked. So he just sat alone. He never had many friends to begin with, but in Dirge he had even less. This was nothing new, and feeling lonely wasn’t anything new either. Feeling lonely was just a side effect of having no friends. So here he was. Almost friendless. The feeling of loneliness wasn’t something Olliver could shake off, like thoughts of his past. For Olliver, loneliness could only be cured by the presence of someone else. But no one was going to come and say hi, no one was going to meet up with him. Maybe Charlottle would if he asked nicely, but she might be in class. It was 2;00 in the afternoon after all. Only the early classes would be out right now. Olliver didn’t know Charlotte’s schedules, but somewhere in the back of his mind, he had a feeling that she wasn’t out yet.
So Olliver sat there alone, watching the world revolve.

It was a wide open space with plenty of people and businesses. Not too mention it had an insane candy store that Ashley was ready to dive into. But there was just one problem, Ashley was alone. Normally the mall would be full of people and Ashley could find some friends to hang out with but not today. She was a senior, which meant she got out of school earlier than everyone else. The downside? There weren’t that many people to hang out with during that time. It was kind of sad but it wouldn’t dampen Ashley’s mood. She’d pull through somehow.
On a brighter note, the mall was full of a bunch of cute couples. Ashley had a few boyfriends before but they weren’t anything special. They never treated her how she wanted to be treated and she frankly only went out with them because they asked and she felt like they were worthy of a chance. Ashley longed to be in a relationship like the couples she passed by. They all looked so into each other and in love. It made her cheeks red just thinking about them.
“Ah! So cute!!” She sighed as she drifted past another couple holding hands. She turned around to see the couple more clearly. The blonde wasn’t exactly watching where she was going. Her eyes were on the completely cute couple. “My God they are so--Eep!” Ashley shrieked as she bumped into something. She tried to mask the shock as she turned to check out what she had hit. “Eh? O-Oppa?” It was sort of strange. She had run into a boy. A boy with hair that was absolutely gorgeous. Ashley stared wide eyed at the boy for a second. She said nothing.
“Ah! I’m so sorry. So very sorry!! Are you okay?” She said as she sat next to him.

i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best Olliver was about to get up and go to the bookstore where he was sure he would be able to find his notebooks and pens and a blonde girl bumped into him. Not hard enough to push him over completely, but enough to make him sway a bit. "O-Oppa?" she'd said sounding a bit confused. She stared at him, wide eyed, and Olliver stared back. Neither of them said anything for a moment. Olliver felt almost confused for a second, as he processed the fact that the girl had just spoken Korean. Of course Olliver understood it, but he hadn't heard a word of Korean in years. His mum had stopped speaking Korean to Olliver at home because their father was getting annoyed that he couldn't understand them. But when Olliver's dad wasn't home, his mum spoke in Korean. But after a while, not speaking Korean when their father was home transferred into not speaking Korean at all.
"Ah! I'm so sorry. So very sorry!! Are you okay?" the girl asked as she sat next to him, breaking through his thoughts. He just blinked at her for a few moments, his brain just beginning to register the fact that, a) someone was talking to him and b) they just asked him a question. He nodded, quickly and replied quietly, "Um, yeah," he felt shy, as always. He liked the fact that his loneliness had finally been cured, but he also felt shy suddenly, a habit of his.
Though he hadn't been this shy when he first met Bree. He was ten, and he had no friends. Being shy wasn't an option in his mind. And just four short years later they began dating. They had been dating for three years when Olliver died. He felt a certain sadness fill him. He missed her. He missed her smell of soap and roses. He missed her hugs. He missed her voice, her laugh, her smile. He missed everything.
He missed her.
But she wasn't here and it was about time he moved on. Olliver turned and looked at the girl, shyly. He didn't know what to say to her, he didn't know what to do. Did he ever know what to do? He was starting to feel lost again, unsure of what to do. Having no friends didn't help him. He wondered what Charlottle would have done in this situation, but he wasn't sure. And he wasn't her, so no matter what she would've done, he probably wouldn't have done it.
So he just looked at the girl sitting next to him. Unsure of where to begin.

And then it was silent for another minute. Neither one of them said a word. Ashley felt a bit awkward. This boy was sitting here all alone and she bumped into him. To make matters worse, she sat next to him and asked him a question. And he replies in an awkward fashion. Maybe he was shy around girls. Or maybe he was just startled. Many thoughts passed through Ashley’s head. She didn’t want to roam the mall alone anymore and here was another person all alone. But maybe he was waiting on someone. Maybe a girlfriend. It wouldn’t hurt to strike up a conversation though.
Ashley huffed. She poked her bottom lip out and looked to the boy with sad eyes. “That’s good. I didn’t mean to bump into you.” She looked up too the boys hair again. It reminded her of her own. Blonde. Ashley had personally dyed her hair this color to stand out. She didn’t want to be just another dark haired Asian girl who had a bubbly personality or who fawned over her Oppa. She wanted to stand on her own as an artist among her people. This boy. She wasn’t sure why he dyed his but it was an attention grabber. It certainly made her feel a little less awkward around him. Her expression slowly changed from a guilt to excitement. “Excuse me but,” Ashley rested her hand on the boys head. “But I love your hair. It’s really pretty and shiny and silky. How do you do it, Oppa?”
Ashley stroked his hair. She didn’t really think about how he might feel about this but she really enjoyed it. Normally she’d get offended and a bit childish if she saw a girl trying to pull off blond hair, but this was different. He was a boy. And it was different from hers anyway. Different color and everything. “I’m Ashley and you are?” She said with an inviting smile.

i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best Olliver wasn't sure what to think of the girl. She just kind of sat next to him and they stared at each other. Not being the best conversationalist, Olliver stared back, feeling awkward and unsure of what to do. He wasn't sure where this conversation would lead; would he end up walking around with her, or would this be it, would they both move on from here and never talk again? She seemed like a kind girl, so Olliver's reaction wasn't to run away. But Olliver was also socially awkward, so even if he didn't mind the girl, he still didn't know what to do. What do people do when they make friends? Well, what do normal people do when they make friends. Olliver didn't know.
Ollie's first friend was made when Olliver tripped over him in the park. They began talking after that, and soon the two became best friends though they had only met an hour ago. But Olliver was seven then and he's now seventeen. Ten years had passed his he became friends with Isaac, huh? Olliver hadn't realized. Time flew by, though it sort of took a while… Did that make sense? Looking back, it felt like time flew by, he felt as though he was only seven yesterday; but while he was living through that time, through every moment and every hour, it felt like time passed very very slowly. But now he felt like his childhood was ages away, though it took ages to get through those years.
Olliver's thoughts were broken when the girl looked over at him with sad eyes and pouted, "That's good. I didn't mean to bump into you," She looked at him and he looked back. "Ah, yeah, it's alright… I guess most people don't um, mean to bump into others," Olliver kind of stammered out. Olliver, what are you saying?! he asked himself. Yay for social awkwardness! a sarcastic voice said somewhere off in his head. He was about to say something when the girl touched his head, "Excuse me, but I love your hair. It's really pretty and shiny and silky," he felt startled at first, but he blushed a bit and looked up shyly at her, "How do you do it, Oppa?" she asked. He touched his hair too, brushing her hand slightly, making him blush more.
Well, his mum did have really nice hair from what he remembered. Maybe he got it from her. "Oh, um, I don't know. My father was uh, British and blonde, hence the accent and um, hair… But mum was Korean, so… And she had really nice hair, so maybe I got it from her?" he really didn't know where is hair came from, other than the fact he was blonde because of his dad. The girl continued to stroke his hair, and he bit his lip and looked shyly at her. "I'm Ashley and you are?" she smiled at him. He smiled shyly back, "I'm ah, Olliver Hughes," he told her with a slight smile.

She was jealous. His hair was naturally the color it was and she dyed hers. Her hand almost instantly dropped from his head to her lap. The blonde actually felt kind of embarrassed. She knew the boy wasn’t aware of what she was thinking but it still made her feel that way. But she wouldn’t stay embarrassed for long. Unpleasant feelings never really lasted long in Ashley. When she was sad, she gets picked up fast and the same goes with embarrassment. “Ollie? Ollie Oppa!” She giggled. “Well if you want you can call me Ash or Ashie.”
She placed her hand on top of his. Ashley wasn’t exactly going to let him get away. Maybe he was here alone and if that was the case why wouldn’t he hang out with her. It seemed like normal logic to her -- excluding the fact that she was still a stranger to this boy but they had time to become closer. She slid her butt closer to his. Maybe he’d feel more comfortable if she made contact with him. It was worth a shot and it was more natural for Ashley to behave that way anyway. She was a hands on person and showed a person if she had interest in them or not.
She leaned on him, her head on his shoulder. “So Ollie Oppa, are you busy?” Ashley snuggled up to him. Her head nuzzling his neck. “Because if you want we can hang out today. I know some fabulous places to buy yummies!” Ashley didn’t know why but she had taken a liking to him. It was strange. She usually took to people quickly but this was insane. She thought about why she’d feel so attached to him. It could have been his hair or the fact that he was Korean or maybe it was the fact that he was all alone like her. “C’mon Oppa. i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best Ashley was something else, that's for sure. And it wasn't a bad something else, it was an unfamiliar something else. She made Olliver feel incredibly shy, but he still wanted to know more about her. Ashley kind of had a gravitational pull. But Olliver felt more shy around her than he'd felt around anyone he'd met in Dirge so far. When she touched his hair, he didn't know what to do. But it felt kind of good and Olliver didn't really think it was that weird. Well, it was weird, but it didn't repel him. He wasn't sure what to think at this point, but he stayed with the girl. He kind of wanted to anyway. As always, he was dying for company. He didn't like being alone, especially when Bree was on his mind. If Bree were here, she would've loved this girl.
But Bree wasn't here. And neither was Isaac.
Olliver didn't know how Isaac would've reacted to her. He might have been a bit sarcastic with her, but it would be a teasing sort of sarcastic. If Isaac were here, Olliver wouldn't feel awkward. He might even be talking normally, not feeling shy at all. Sure Isaac was his first friend, but… He'd never see Isaac again. In fact, he hadn't seen Isaac in seven years. After all, he moved, and it was hard to make hospital visits when he lived far away from the hospital.
Olliver shuddered a bit at the thought of the hospital. Isaac's hospital wasn't creepy or anything; Olliver just didn't like hospitals. Hospitals made him feel weird inside, in a way Olliver couldn't describe, but he just didn't like the feeling. Hospitals were places where people died, but it was also places where people recovered and where babies were born. But that means that Isaac would either recover or die. You didn't really leave a hospital until either one of those things happened. And there was no really way to cure comas. Every time Olliver thought of Isaac in his coma, he couldn't help but think what if Isaac didn't get into that car crash. Would they still be best friends? Would they still be talking? Would they still be meeting at the park? Olliver didn't know, and there really was no way to know.
"Ollie? Ollie Oppa!" Ashley broke through his thoughts with her bubbly giggle, "Well if you want you can call me Ash or Ashie," Olliver smiled shyly at her. Her happiness, her bubbly personality, it was kind of infectious. He could help but smile a bit too. But his shyness seemed to get in the way. And when she placed her hand onto of his, he felt himself blushing. He knew his face must be really red, especially now that she slid over and was now nuzzling her head against his neck. He could only imagine how red he was. "So, Ollie Oppa, are you busy? Because if you want we can hang out today. I know some fabulous places to buy yummies!" he couldn't help but smile and think that this girl was adorable. He wanted to hug her, but considering he just met her, he didn't. And he was feeling ridiculously shy. "C'mon Oppa. Pleeeeeeeeeeease!!' she begged him. He turned his hand over [the one which her own hand was on top of] and squeezed it, the tiniest, littlest bit. "Sure, I'd ah, appreciate the um, company…" Olliver seemed to have forgotten why he'd even come to the mall in the first place.

Was he grabbing her hand? More importantly holding? The idea of it made Ashley want to giggle. She couldn’t help but think about it though. He was so close but it seemed like he was far away. So when he agreed to spend some time with her, she was ecstatic. Her head raised off of his shoulder and she looked at Ollie. The expression on her face was exuberant. “Heehee. Great! Then we can go play some,” Ashley before she got up from her seat. Her grip on Ollie’s hand tightened, she pulled at his arm. “C’mon Oppa. First, we can go shopping and then we can go get something sweet.”
She wondered what exactly did he want to do. Maybe he had some sort of agenda and she was messing it up. Ashley wouldn’t imagine he’d let her take him too far away from his original plans. But the first thing was she had on her mind were clothes. She didn’t necessarily need new clothes but she enjoyed being in the stores. There was an endless amount of fun to be had within one. They could try on clothes -- which was the default -- or they could have fun messing with the employees, but that was how Ashley had gotten banned from a lot of stores when she was alive. Hell, they could even have fun watching the customers. Something was bound to happen and they could pick up on it easily. Ashley trembled with excitement and bounced around. “Oppaaaaaaaa hurryyyyy!! Geez why do you have to move so slow!” She teased.
Ashley danced around as they walked into a clothing store. Her eyes sparkled as she noticed something from across the room. The girl let go of Ollie’s hand and made a dash for it. It wasn’t exactly the most beautiful outfit in the world, it was actually kind of ditzy. Ashley quickly adorned her new attire and looked towards Ollie. “Hey Ollie! You got something to say?” She widened her stance and put up her rocker fists. Ashley’s face was covered from the nose down by a black bandana and on top of her head was an black snapback that was jokingly turned to the side. “Heehee. You like?"

i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best She giggled when Olliver squeezed her hand, which brought Olliver into a slightly more conscious state… What did I do that for?! Olliver thought desperately as his face turned red… Again. But he didn't pull away; if he were being honest with himself, he didn't want to. But Olliver is Olliver and considering he was feeling very, completely and utterly shy, he wouldn't admit it. No, not to himself -- well, not now anyway. When Ashley [Or should I call her Ash? Olliver pondered] lifted her head off of his shoulder, he felt the tiniest, littlest, smallest, minuscule, itty bit of disappointment. But the look on her face, her happiness, made Olliver forget he even felt that way. "Heehee. Great! Then we can go play some," Ashley said as she got up, her warmth leaving his side. It immediately felt, well, almost wrong. Kind of empty. Like something was missing. But when she got up, she didn't let go of his hand as she tugged at his arm. And he had no intention of letting go. Not yet anyway. And hopefully not for a while.
"C'mon, Oppa. First we can go shopping and then we can go get something sweet," Olliver smiled shyly and said to her quietly, "Sounds like a plan," Olliver stood up, and he immediately noticed that the gap between them was only three inches. He also suddenly became aware of his height, compared to hers. He looked down at her for a few seconds, before realizing he was staring. Feeling a bit shocked, he pulled away, but kept his hand in hers. "Oppaaaaaaaa hurryyyyy!! Geez why do you have to move so slow!" He knew she was teasing, but he blushed anyway, heat rising to his cheeks. "Then, ah, lead the way…" he said as he picked up his pace, just by a bit.
When they reached a clothes store, he and Ashley walked in. Other couples were there minding their own business, when something hit Olliver. Did they look like a couple…? After all, they were holding hands. That wasn't something you just did with a friend, right? Hell, they just met. But Olliver had taken a liking to her, no matter how shy she made him feel. And even if they weren't a couple, Olliver didn't let go of her hand. The public didn't need to know better, right?
Olliver's attention was back on Ashley, as he watched her dance around the store, still holding his hand. He grinned at her. So she likes dancing, huh… Olliver took a mental note of that. For some reason, he wanted to remember this. He wanted to remember today. Ashley's carefree spirit made Olliver happy, and when she danced, he wanted to dance too. So he did; just a little bit. He took the hand she was holding, and twirled her in a circle. He found he was blushing, but dance was second nature for him. But she soon let go of his hand, and Olliver found himself wanting to reach for it again, but she had already dashed across the store. Olliver followed her, slowly, as he watched her put on a bandana and snapback.
"Hey Ollie! You got something to say?" He couldn't help but laugh at her, and pick up his pace until he was next to her again. "Heehee. You like?" Olliver smiled at her and said, "Sure," spying a headband with a bow and a heart on a nearby rack, he reached for it. Carefully, he took the bandana and snapback off, and placed them back where they had come from. He then placed the headband on her head, carefully, avoiding her ears. After adjusting it a bit, he looked back at her, and unconsciously brushed some of her hair out of her eyes. "I was right," he said smiling slightly, "You look good in that too," he grinned at bit, teasing her slightly.

It seemed like they were getting along better than she had originally thought and it was all happening pretty quickly too. But it was okay because she actually liked this boy. He was nice to her and seemed like a good person in general. Either that or he was a really good actor and if that were the case he would keep fooling Ashley. She was kind of wacky like that. Once she believed something it’s hard to get her to think the other way.
But she would get the chance to get a good look at him in a moment. The boy reached over to take the bandana and cap off of her. She bit her lip and couldn’t help but stare at him. Was he conscious of what he was doing? Or was he just acting out of what he felt? Whatever it was, Ashley didn’t mind one bit. She actually kind of liked it. She had always read those books and watched the movies were the girl would act silly and the guy would say something along the lines of ‘You’re beautiful.’ But that wasn’t what was happening here. “I was right” Ashley snapped out of her daze. “You look good in that too.” Close enough, she thought.
“O-Oppa! Do you really think so?” She asked. Ashley turned to the mirror and posed. “Mmmm. I think you have a good eye,” She giggled. Ashley turned back to Olliver and grabbed his hand. “I’ll take it. I think I should bump into you more often,” she said as she bumped hips. “Now c’mon.” The girl hadn’t yet taken off the band. Ashley felt it had a certain sentimental value. It was the first thing he picked out for her and it did look kind of cute. She couldn’t just toss it aside and she couldn’t leave him without something. But what? She would make sure that by the end of the day he would have a token of her affection.
Ashley really didn’t like anything in the store. She’d much rather move on and keep looking but she was going to buy the headband. She handed the clerk her card. “So Ollie, what do you want to do next?” Ashley grabbed her bag and locked arms with Olliver. “I’ll let you lead the way.”

i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best Olliver wasn't sure what to do. On one hand, he actually felt like he could be himself, and on the other... He wanted to impress Ashley. Or at least, show that he was interesting, worth remembering... Worth being with. Did he like her? She was nothing like Bree... But maybe that's what he needed. And right now, her not being like Bree was okay with him. Sure, he was stuck on her, but Ashley was making it easier to forget. Because hen Ashley was there, you just wanted to pay attention, to get to know her. It was hard to think about much else.
But what to do? Olliver didn't know. With Bree, it was easy, she knew what to do. But now, Olliver didn't know what to do. He did like her. He really liked Ash. But did he love her? It was too soon to know. Love at first sight didn't actually happen, did it? But it wasn't really first sight... More like first meeting. All the same, Olliver didn't know how to act and what to do with his feelings. And what to say? Maybe it was better not to over think it. Just go with it. Be himself, and see where it goes. Which would probably be nowhere, but Olliver really didn't know what to do. So being himself was the best option.
"O-Oppa! Do you really think so?" Ashley asked, after Olliver told her she looked good in the headband. Realizing what he said, he turned red and stammered out, "Uh, er, yeah, I do..." She looked adorable. Not that he'd say that. He'd keep it to himself.. Just for now. Maybe one day he'd tell her, but right now, he was feeling very. Very. Shy. "Mmmm. I think you have a good eye," she said, giggling. Olliver, feeling red again, just nodded timidly. Did he really have a good eye? Well, at least she liked it. And then she grabbed his hand, which was a relief, because that meant he didn't have to. "I'll take it. I think I should bump into you more often," she said as she bumped hips with him. He nudged her back. "Or maybe we should just meet up..." Olliver said quietly, and well, hopefully. "Now, c'mon," she pulled him over to the register, paid for the band [much to Ollie's dismay. He wanted to buy it for her.] and pulled him out of the store.
"So Ollie, what do you want to next?" Ashley grabbed her bag and locked arms with Olliver. Olliver guessed this was okay, but he thought he preferred holding hands. "I'll let you lead the way," Where to? He didn't know where he wanted to go. Anywhere was okay, as long as he was with Ashley. "I don't come here often... Any stores we should go to?" he trusted her opinion.

She just knew they were going to have so much fun together. The girl snuggled up tightly around Olliver’s arm. That was until he admitted he didn’t really know much about the mall. She gasped and released him quickly. In a way, it was cute but Ashley had gotten her hopes up. She had truly believed he was going to take charge and take her somewhere. But it was perfectly fine, she knew more than a couple places they could go. She pouted. “Oppa really?!” She stood on the tip of her toes and looked him dead in his face. “Aigoo!! That’s fine I guess. I know somewhere we can play anyway,” She winked. “But you have to close your eyes. No peeking, kay?”
She shrugged and held his arm tighter. Ashley knew exactly where they could go. But there was one question that was wracking her brain. Were they going to be cold? They both were dressed in clothes that was generally for warm weather, even though Ashley frequently wore shorts in the winter as well. She giggled. “It’s gonna be really cool just you wait.” It was a rather small hint and she wasn’t sure if he’d get it or not, but she found it funny.
Ashley let Olliver and jumped back. The girl lifted her feet off the ground and floated closely behind Olliver. She wrapped her arms around him and hung from his shoulders. It was quite the sight to see. A nearly empty ice rink, nothing but a few people on it. Normally it’d be crowded with kids and couples but because of the time of day they were practically free. Ashley had always enjoyed coming to this spot, but it was never as fun without someone to enjoy it with. “Tadaaaaa~! You can open your eyes now.” She flew around to his front and grabbed both of his hands. “The Ice Rink is cool, right? Heehee. We can go shopping anytime but this place is never like this. It‘s always packed and stuffed with people pushing you around. Ya‘know? Oh please Oppa! Can we?” Ashley bit her lip and stared into his eyes. She was determined to get in and she really wanted to go.

i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best "Oppa really?!" Olliver nodded feeling a bit shy and embarrassed for the billionth time today. What was it about her that made feeling normal so impossible? Olliver couldn't stand it he needed to know. But more than anything, what he really needed to know, was her. What made her tick? What made her happy? He just wanted to know. And it usually wasn't like this, but this time, it really was. He wanted to know everything about her, and they'd only just met. All the more right? "Aigoo!!" Ashley said breaking through his thoughts, "That's fine I guess. I know somewhere we can play anyway," before Olliver could ask where, she winked and continued, "But you have to close your eyes. No peeking, kay?" he nodded slowly, wondering how he was going to make it to wherever they were going without making a fool of himself.
Before Olliver could [instinctively] take her hand, she grabbed his arm and held it tightly - not that Olliver really minded. He looked down at her holding his arm tightly, just for a few moments, before looking away, his face turning bright red. They looked like a couple didn't they? Well, did he mind? He let the question hang in his mind, not wanting to answer it. He couldn't help but feel a tiny bit afraid of the answer. "It's gonna be really cool just you wait," Ashley said to him. He nodded, completely oblivious to the hint she'd just dropped.
"Let's get going," Olliver said nudging her. He closed his eyes, but before they started moving, Ashley jumped away, and Olliver immediately felt lost. His eyes flew open, and he looked around for her. She wasn't going to leave him was she? But when he turned around, there she was - three inches from his face. Olliver looked at her, somewhat intently, staring at the girl whom he'd just met. She made him feel so… Complete? Not totally alone in this world? Happy? All of the above? He smiled softly at her, before glancing down at his feet, and turning around. She wrapped her arms around him, hanging from his shoulders. He felt comfortable. Warm.
"Tadaaaaa~! You can open your eyes now," Olliver did as she said, blinking to adjust his eyes to the glaring white of the… Ice? A skating rink. Olliver couldn't help but let a bubbly laugh escape his lips. She flew around to face him and grabbed both of his hands. He squeezed hers lightly. "The ice rink is cool, right?" Olliver smiled, understanding her hint from before. "Yes," he grinned, "Literally," he let out a small laugh again. "Heehee. We can go shopping anytime but this place is never like this. It's always packed and stuffed with people pushing around. Ya'know?" Olliver nodded, noticing the lack of bustling couples, who seemed to always fill the rink. "Oh please Oppa! Can we?" Olliver laughed and grinned at her again. "Of course; I'd love to," he told her. And he meant it.

And sometimes it didn’t make sense especially with the way she was raised. Her parents came straight from Korea and their culture was far different from the west’s. In Korea, she wouldn’t be acting the way she was right now. People weren’t that open or at least not towards the opposite sex.
Ashley gasped and nearly tackled Olliver with her hug. She squeezed him tightly and giggled lightly before she released him. “Heehee! Great!” Ashley had gotten really excited and was getting impatient. She didn’t want to stand around forever not skating, but they had to talk to the receptionist before they could do anything. It sort of stopped them from having fun right away but it gave Ashley time to think of a game they could play. “Let’s hurry Oppa! I wanna skate with you and we can play a game once we get on the ice,” Ashley said. She bounced around excitedly. “And there will be a penalty for the loser.” Ashley winked. Most of the time, when Ashley winked that meant she had some wicked intentions. So it might not of been obvious to Olliver then but Ashley had no intentions of losing their little game. She’d try her best to win and make him do what she wants. Carrying her, yelling out compliments about her or dressing him up. The possibilities were endless.
She laughed to herself thinking of what could be. Ashley tugged on Olliver’s hand and brought him towards the receptionist. She smiled lightly and leaned on the counter. “Can we get some skates? Got anything is a size 6.5?” She wasn’t completely sure how the sizing worked but she knew they’d get what she meant. Whether it was the same or not. “And Ollie Oppa?” Ashley asked as she received her own pair.

i can live without you but without you i'll be miserable at best Olliver was always shy with his feelings. If he wanted a hug, he might give one. If he wanted a kiss, he'd wait. If he wanted anything, he'd rarely do it because he was too shy to do anything. However, he did appreciate hugs and kisses and holding hands and things of that sort, and he would respond. Olliver would never start it though, unless he felt strongly about something. Even then, he always felt shy and it was hard for him to let go of any hesitant thoughts that might cross his mind. Olliver was also pretty indecisive at times. He didn't know what he wanted and if he wanted it most of the time.
And maybe that's why he and Ashley clicked. She just did what she wanted, and for the most part, Olliver was okay with that. He wasn't really going to do much in the mean time, not when they had just met, and Ashley didn't seem to mind too much. At least, she wasn't showing any signs. And she was cute and energetic, and Olliver liked that.
He liked her.
Ashley nearly tackled him with a hug and he let out a laugh. He wrapped his arms around her waist, hugging her back. He put his chin on top of her head - something he used to do with Bree. "Heehee! Great!" Ashley said as she let go of Olliver. He felt himself blushing again, and looked away. "Let's hurry Oppa! I wanna skate with you and we can play a game once we get on the ice. And there will be a penalty for the loser," Ashley winked, which reaaaallllyyy didn't help Olliver stop blushing. In fact, he was pretty sure he was turning redder. Why, why, why, Olliver thought. She wasn't even doing anything significant. He also wondered what the penalty would be, knowing he'd probably loose. He wasn't a very competitive person.
"What game?" he asked her, as she tugged on his hand and pulled him to the receptionist. She told the woman her size, and turned to Olliver, "And Ollie Oppa?" Olliver played that phrase over in his mind. He liked the way it sounded. "Um, 8 mens?" he wasn't really sure what his shoe size was anymore, but that was fine. It'd all work out in the end.
