Vince hadn't actually put much thought into it before but was it as simple as it was when they were alive? Could he say he was older than her by just saying he was here first or did birth dates actually matter. And if the birth dates did matter, who was to say someone who was sixteen wasn't older than himself since they'd lived their longer. But then again, they wouldn't really be sixteen then. "Haha! Oh wow. You're cold blooded I can't have a fantasy where I'm older than you? Anyway I dunno you don't look like a Noona." Vince didn't know exactly how she'd take that. A compliment or him being a guy, as those other girls would have said. To be called young was a compliment, at least in certain cultures to a certain extent. Even the old strive to be youthful in appearance and spiritually.
He practically burst into laughter almost as soon as she mentioned his schedule. It was almost as if she were picking at it. "It's not exactly what you're thinking." he moved the hair out of his eyes. Modified schedule was probably the wrong words to use around someone like her. A person who kept picking at things. He watched as she put her supplies away. They could probably relax now since the teacher wasn't beating information to them and they pretty much had covered the first part of the project, well mostly her. He sat back in his chair, arms folded, and nodded. It probably would have been best to start on the essay later. He could snag a little alone time with her if he played his cards right. "Aigoo. It's not like that. You'll see one day just what I'm talking about. Oh. Quick question," he leaned forward. "How old are you? Like when were you born? If that's not a problem with you." He was actually curious as to how old she was now that she had brought up the whole noona-oppa matter. It wouldn't change the way he talked to her because he was a naturally casual speaker, but it was something he'd need to know sooner or later down the line.

tags: vincent words: 350+ notes: you need to have stories to tell. and let's pretend i know how to use the language correctly. | he was all ready having a fantasy where he was older than her? what exactly was running through that mind of his was out of her grasp although she doubted she really wanted to know more than he had just admitted. she knew it was a compliment to be seen as younger, however hearing that it was his fantasy all ready to be older grated on her nerves just a bit. "you sound just like an ahjusshi with those fantasies of yours." she remarked, knowing that he would figure out that she meant he sounded like a perverted old man. they were in the same class, meaning that they had to be close in age, so to just assume that he was older seemed wrong to her. she knew that her age wouldn't matter one bit to him, in terms of getting rid of his persistence even though they had only encountered each other twice.
all right, so he didn't have too many classes or ones that overlapped, but his schedule still made little sense to her. "aishhh." she muttered at his mention of her one day seeing what he was talking about. if he couldn't simply explain himself then there wasn't anything to find out. even if he honestly thought that he would be able to convince her to one day go along with him to discover his so called modified schedule she wasn't about to jeopardize one of her classes for him. for a moment she debated on whether or not to actually tell him her age. there was always the possibility of lying and saying she was older, but taking the courses she was her lies would either be discovered or she would look like an idiot. with a sigh she answered, "it's not that big of a problem, unless it should be and i'm unaware of that. i'm nineteen. i was born in november." even with his additional comment of acting like he wasn't trying to pry into her specifics she knew it wouldn't stop so long as he could help it. for now she could answer a few questions to keep him at bay.

Some of her comments did hurt, joking or not. The whole ahjussi thing wasn't exactly a big deal and he could laugh it off, but it still hurt. He really couldn't let her know that though or she'd wind up calling him that on a regular basis. There was nothing worse than being called an old mister. He would of preferred Appa over Ahjussi. At least in translation it sounds a lot sexier than well uncle. "You got jokes. Haha." Besides, it was normal for a boy to want to hear those words from a girl. What self-respecting Korean male wouldn't like a pretty girl to call him Oppa. It was nice. It felt nice. And it showed a connection.
The biggest grin reappeared on his face as she mentioned her age. So he was older than her, just by a smidgen. July beats November after all. It wasn't a big gap or anything, he was still nineteen, but it was still nice. Though she pretty much could call him whatever she wanted since the age gap was next to nothing. Oppa or just Vince would be fine. One just boosted the ego and had a certain charm behind it. "So we're the same age, huh? The only difference is that I was born in July," he laughed. That made his fantasy a reality or well, it was more of a thought than a fantasy. "Looks like I was right for you to call me Oppa~! But it's cool. No need to get formal."
He took a moment to sit back. For a moment there was silence between them. There weren't too many questions he wanted to ask. It wasn't that he wasn't interested or anything but if anything were to come up he wanted it to appear naturally. Vince was all about appearing smooth, so if he wanted to get to know a girl he could take his time and when she opened up BAM. He'd strike. At least that's what has been working for him so far. But compliments were still a nice thing to give. Everyone liked them and it wasn't too often someone denied a compliment. "Can I say something?" he questioned not giving her a moment to properly answer. "I really admire what you've done with your hair. Something like that makes you stand out. You know like if you were in a room full of fobby Asian kids you'd be easy to spot," he laughed. "But I guess that's not the only reason why you'd stick out."

tags: vincent words: 350+ notes: ah, makes sense then. | that had done it. even though vincent was playing off the fact that she had basically called him an old man that had hit him hard enough. he had no silly comeback or anything to say to try and save what dignity he had, rather he only told her that she had jokes. anyone who was actually listening to their conversation and had seen them when they first met would have been able to tell that it wasn't all fun and jokes, but she would let vincent play it off as such. no one else needed to know. now was the time to make friends, although for now all she had was vincent. "you only have me by a few months then." she shrugged, trying her hardest to ignore the grin that was plastered on his face. now his one fantasy of being older than her had been fulfilled. hopefully the next one never came about. "i'll think about calling you oppa when you've earned it." she smirked, "for now i'll stick with vincent." they were in no way, shape, or form close enough for her to even feel comfortable about calling him oppa, even then she knew at this point it was one of the worst things she could do, at least for herself.
ariella tiled her head to the side as vincent asked about saying something. if he had to ask to say something she was unsure of whether or not she should be worried about what he had to say. he was all ready off with his compliment before she could say anything. "thank you." she managed to reply, "it takes plenty of work but it's worth it. i'm sure you can only appreciate the work it takes to manage hair because you know how to take care of your own." ah yes, he was conceited enough to care about looks. she had taken note of the way he seemed to play with his hair to make it perfect, that was one of the few things he had going for him after all. "i'm sure you mean that my halo helps me to stick out as well." she smiled, thinking that he meant to bring up how she had blinded him when they first met. she wasn't as bothered by it now as she had been when he had first mocked her for it. "have you seen a lot of fobby asian kids recently?" she teased.

No anger, denial or snappy comebacks. She mentioned something about noticing how he cared for his appearance and there was a lot of truth in that. Physical appearance often mattered a lot. Jobs, hell certain people, wouldn't accept you if you didn't look a certain way or were generally well groomed. Vince wasn't much too different. Bad hair to him was like the darkest of sins. It was only acceptable under certain circumstances, but nine times out of ten if he was going to hang out it was crucial to look your best. Unless they were chilling inside or something of that sort. "Of course of course."
The discussion found itself back on the halo topic, which was something that wasn't going to leave them for a while. It was actually quite funny, even if Vince would never admit it. The funny thing was he wasn't trying to point out her halo this time at least. Her attitude. The way she carried herself seemed far healthier than what he's noticed in most of the Asian girls he's met. "Haha! That too. I'm pretty sure you'll outshine all of them but that's not exactly what I meant." Come to think of it...had he met any fobby Asian kids recently? He knew a whole slew of them when he was alive and he always found how they spoke to be a bit snobbish. It was cool to speak in your native tongue every once in awhile but talking about someone in a language they didn't understand seemed childish or well, snobbish. Some of them had a decent fashion sense and others...were complete dorks. But life was a crap shoot. "I've met a few here or there. Not too many. Why? Have you met any?" he questioned. Wondering if she actually had met anyone other than himself. Again.

tags: vincent words: 350+ notes: muse on fire. Can you tell? On iPad again. | "oh." she started as Vincent said that he had not been referring to her halo when it came to stranding out. "what exactly did you mean then?" she questioned out of curiosity. She was a little glad that he hadn't just been trying to poke his version of fun at her once more. Being dead was bad enough but to have faults that were nearly uncontrollable pointed out didn't help much either. Now she figured that by asking Vincent what he meant she was going to get herself into deeper waters with him, meaning he would be saying something more to play up his smooth personality or something along those lines. Perhaps another comment, now she was curious what he would bring to the table that was actually new and interesting, rather than old recycled comments that tended to circulate far too often. everyone she could possibly meet in dirge could almost be considered fobby considering they were all brand new at one point to death. At the moment she couldn't even claim to have met anyone else so she didn't bother to try to push too much when it came to talking about others. "no fobby kids at this point." she admitted, "but at this point I think it might actually be a good thing. And when you think about it anyone new here could be considered fobby. I'm just glad I found some other people who know what it's like to have a permanent ornament above their head."
Of course she would continue with the lie that she had met some other kids who had helped her with her halo. There was no reason to let Vincent think she was a complete and total loner, although at this point she practically was. Death had taken some time to adjust to. She needed that first bit of time to be alone with her own thoughts to attempt to figure some things out. Vincent had actually helped a little bt, not that she would ever admit at to him or anyone else, but this first day of school was going to be her first attempt at socializing in dirge.not tact it would be hard for her of course, she could talk to anyone as long as she wanted to talk to them. Hopefully her next few classes would bring her better luck. "I guess we'll get together later to get the essay done. I don't see a point in starting it now if we aren't going to finish it by the time class gets out." she commented. She would have a rough draft finished by the time she had to meet up with Vincent. All he would have to do was say that it was good and they would be done. "what other classes do you have?" she questioned, realizing that she might as well prepare herself now for having to see him again throughout the day.

She was intrigued and he liked that. It was actually kind of funny to him but he'd save those words for a little later. He wanted her to actually absorb what he was about to say. Take it in. He laughed and shook his head. "Nah. You wouldn't want to know." Though Vince knew good and well that she was probably ready to hear whatever he was talking about. It was just a lot funner for him if he joked around a bit before saying anything that could be portrayed as nice.
Her definition of fob wasn't exactly wrong, if anything it gave him something to think about. Any new kid could be called a fob since they were fresh to this place. There she was again making him question what he was saying -- he didn't mind much though. It was cool. A new way to see things since it seemed like everyone here were from different sides of the world. "I guess you're right and it's good that you have such helpful friends," she hadn't exactly slipped up or anything. Maybe she was telling the truth. She was a girl after all and a pretty one at that. Someone was bound to talk to her.
Getting together later sounded like a great idea. It would require the both of them to meet up at a certain point and time to discuss what they needed to and if there was time, talk about other things. "Sounds like a good idea." He didn't have any other classes on this day in particular but he did have a few others. "My other classes? Chemistry, History annnd um what's it called...Art Appreciation. But they're all spread out nicely." Vince preferred to keep his classes early. They were easier to get to and he had a bunch of free time afterward. Though, that didn't mean he still didn't show up whenever the hell he wanted.

tags: vincent words: 350+ notes: I knew it. iPad once more. | of course she wouldn't want to know what he was talking about. What good would it do her to actually figure out what he meant if he wasn't even going to share that bit of information with her. Then again she figured that he just didn't want to say whatever it was just yet. He would just withold that information from her for a bit before doing anything else. Perhaps he would save it for the next time them met or if anything he really didn't have much to say, but she doubted it was the latter. Vincent seemed like the type to say what he meant. She was certain he knew by now that she would call him out on that sort of thing. It was a good thing that he hadn't called her out on those helpful friends of hers or then she would be in trouble. She could only imagine what grief he would give her after that discovery. "it is great. I just wish they had a welcoming committee or something along those lines to help out everyone who just ended up in dirge. It would make things so much easier." she sighed. That was the truth. They didn't have to all be friends in dirgebutthere were those people who were just helpful by nature so it seemed fitting to give them such a job.
"only four classes total?" she questioned, a bit surprised by his lack of classes. Arielle didn't think of herself as an overachiever or anything of the sort but she at least had a few important classes that were meant to fill up her time. "I'm guessing that art appreciation one will be a breeze." she teased. That was probably why he was taking it after all. "I'm glad I don't have chemistry. I hate that kind of science." she admitted. It was a good thing she had an anatomy class. That just seemed more practical and possibly more morbid because they were all dead. Her other classes included calculus, history, a fitness class, and some intro to humanities. The only possibility of another class with Vincent was history. "it seems like the only other class we could have together is history." she said absent mindedly, not that she cared to have another class with Vincent but he probably would. they would find out either way if they did once they showed up in the classroom.

He had taken Art Appreciation just for the hell of it and Chemistry was just...painful. The sort of pain that came from sitting in a classroom for four plus hours listening to a professor lecture students on a bunch of glorified math. Don't get him wrong, the labs were okay. You get in class, do the lab, do some math and get out in an hour or two. If you were lucky thirty-ish minutes. Vince hated the class but it was a required course for him to take, well, that could change seeing as how he was...dead. He didn't have his parents forcing a major down his throat and he was free to take whatever courses he liked. "Hate isn't a strong enough word to describe how I feel about that class."
History. It was possible for them to have history together and it'd give him another chance to see her. He wasn't really wishing for it to happen but he thought it'd be sort of nice. Another semi-familiar face to talk with in his other classes always sounded nice. He just wished someone would of taken chem with him. It was such a drag to sit in there alone, not like he couldn't make friends. It wasn't a matter of talking to someone, just he felt like seeing someone he was already used to...unless there happened to be a pretty girl in the class and then he could just play around during the boring parts. "Oh so you're taking history too then? Well I hope to see you around then. It'd be nice to see another face brighten up some of these dreary classes," he stretched. Class was as good as done. Most of the class was packing up and getting ready to move on to the next thing. Vince gathered his things, "So I'll be seeing you around, right?"

"maybe." she shrugged, not at all hopeful about the prospect of having a class together as vincent was. either he was attempting to make it sound like she was literally a bright spot to see in his day or he just thought it was a good remark to make to her. "yeah. i'll have to call you this time." she teased as she began to claim her binder before putting her pen in her purse. well at least the class was over now and they were finished for the time being. so long as she did not have history with him she wouldn't see him that often, at least not after their essay was finished. "see you later." she said as she stood up and walked out of the door, ready to get to her next class, or at least find it.
